Nicole graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy in 2011.
After years of bouncing around jobs in virtually every rehab setting imaginable, Nicole started to wonder if she really could be an occupational therapist for the rest of her life. In 2016, while working for a pediatric practice, Nicole noticed the movement patterns she was seeing in some of the kids were very similar to patterns she had seen when working with adult neurological populations. After doing some research, she realized the movement patterns were being caused by retained primitive reflexes. Nicole took her first MNRI course for Dynamic and Postural Reflex Integration so she could help get these kids out of these dysfunctional patterns. In feeling the profound benefits for her own body, she fell in love with manual therapies and set out to learn as much as she could about our bodies and how they move.
While Nicole loved the new techniques she was doing and saw huge improvements in her clients, she felt stifled by the constraints of the high productivity expectations and micromanagement that come with working for someone else. Nicole decided to start Charleston OT LLC in 2016, so she could provide a higher level of specialization to all of her clients.
Charleston OT has expanded since 2016, however, Nicole remains committed to providing each client in the practice with the best possible clinical care. She has carefully chosen a highly qualified team of therapists who are also dedicated to doing just that. Every employee in the practice also has specialized training in either MNRI, CFT, or infant massage in addition to their OT education.
When not working, Nicole can be found hanging out with her husband, Dan; her son, Wolf; and her stepdaughters, Lauren Bray and Mary Wells.
